I'm left in an emotional limbo, at the somewhat unsatisfying conclusion of this beautiful, poignant story. Bittersweet--a little bitter, a lot of sweet. It's reminiscent of my own experiences; I'll try to explain better by asking a question (or two): Have you ever longed for something or someone you knew of, were drawn to, and a little haunted/tortured by... ? That no one else was aware of... ? That you had no power, reason, or way to actualize that wish in your life? Just a constant underlying, sometimes overriding, yearn that doesn't quit... ? ❤️🔥💔 There's no way to requite it. Until one day it suddenly comes to you. Somehow. Not directly beckoned by you or by anyone else for that matter. The opportunity, the object, or the person is suddenly before you, stunning you by the unanticipated, never-expected fulfillment. ❤️🔥❤️🩹All of that is what the reconnection between Bea and Miguel (what a sweetheart!) reminded me of. And is my reason for wishing to peek around the corner of the last scene (beautiful indeed) and see a different development of a particular kind. I can infer it, though, no problem, really. And while I'm inferring a finale that I prefer, I appreciate the descriptions and allusions you've sensitively created and balanced here. As always, thank you and xoxo from J.🌹
