For seven years, Amelia lived in the shadow of Logan Blackwell — the cold mafia boss who called her “sister” while silently breaking her heart. But everything changes the night Logan sees her smiling at another man… and realizes too late that he was never able to keep his distance from her. Caught between threats, secrets, and a passion buried for years, Amelia must decide if loving Logan means losing herself. Because when a man obsessed with control finally falls in love… he becomes dangerous even to his own heart.

Kudos to Logan for making the adjustments that he could make while loving Amelia, declaring that love out loud and acting on it, at the same time that he was dealing with his duties as a Mafia Lord. And it's good, great, etc., that Amelia was such a wheel with all of her considerable admin responsibilities and powers, while balancing (suppressing) her feelings for Logan. However, I just think sometimes women are so determined to be not just equal but better than or ahead of the men who love them. And think they know better than the men who love them. And call protection control. I don't agree with that. Somehow, there needs to be a better balance with these particular relationships where one is striving for independence to the point of endangerment. Especially unnecessary endangerment. Fortunately Amelia's experience and intelligence found a way to smoothly and effectively undo the threat from the enemy and render him powerless. Enjoyed in Anaheim, CA. Thank you. 🌹

Thank you so much, J! ❤️ I really appreciate your thoughtful insights. One of my favorite parts of writing is seeing how different readers interpret the characters and their choices. Logan and Amelia definitely challenged each other, and I'm so glad you enjoyed watching their journey unfold. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful support and for taking the time to leave such meaningful comments. 🌹😊

Why isn't there more like this? Real, slow, adult. I keep looking and keep being disappointed. Then this.

I've recommended this to every woman in my Pilates class. Three of them have already finished it.

Listened while folding laundry. Folded the same towel four times because I forgot what I was doing.

Finally an audiobook for grown women. No silly tropes, just slow-burn done right. Sleep timer is heaven.

Started it at 9 p.m., 'just one chapter.' It's 2 a.m. and I'm lying here staring at the ceiling like a teenager.
